The Second Draft is Here... (Almost a year later)

It took me a while to get going with the second draft. I neglected it for almost a year. I got distracted by my paying job and I also didn't really feel inspired to start. I started losing interest in the characters and after a while, the novel got abandoned.

But then something happened. I got inspired to write again. It came out of the blue. I just woke up one morning and the words came flowing out, so I got to work. I hammered out the second draft in 11 days, and I changed my original story to something that I think is much more interesting. It's still about three people navigating life and adulthood... but it's got more twists and turns and I think (I may be biased here) it's more honest and raw than the first draft.

Now all I have to do is to print out the second draft and start the editing process. This is going to be tough and painful but someone's got to do it! Once the editing process is done then I can start working on... the third draft. Hopefully it won't take me a whole year to get to work on it. I want this book to be in your hands soon. It will be. I just have to get crackin'.

Luckily, I have two things going for me: I have my music and my cats to help me in this next phase. Music inspires me to keep writing and my cats, well, they don't do anything really but they're cute and they love accompanying me when I write. That's good enough for me!
